Cupping & Gua Sha
Relax the Muscles & Enhance Immunity
The Benefits of CuppingCupping is a technique with similar benefits as Gua Sha, however, cupping is more detoxifying and also helps to stretch and relax the muscles. Cupping has become popularized by the media coverage of recent Olympic athletes. However, both cupping and gua sha have been used for thousands of years as an effective healing technique by multiple traditional cultures. Acupuncturists are trained in cupping just as they are trained in therapeutic needling and herbalism. Cupping can be used for pain, cellulite, edema, and even abdominal bloating.

The Benefits of Gua ShaGua sha is the gentle pressing of the skin, increasing circulation, relaxing muscle, and boosting the immune system. The gentle pressing allows for red blood cells to be pulled out of the capillaries without any damage to the body, creating a light redness to the treatment area. The red blood cells then become oxygenated before re-entering the capillary. This boosts the body’s levels of Heme Oxygenase-1, also known as HO-1, an immune regulator. Gua Sha is effective for chronic illness, common viruses, for body aches and pains, and also as a natural facelift.
