Qi Gong & Tai Ji

Mindful Movements for Health & Longevity
A Meditative Practice, Combining Martial Arts & Traditional Medical Theory

Qì Gōng  ( 气功 )

Tài Jí   ( 太极 )

Qi Gong is an exercise of both mind and body. The focus is in strengthening the natural energies of the body, while becoming more aware of them through subtle and precise movement.

Medical Qi Gong, specifically cultivates the health of our organs, immune system, and circulatory system, as well as bringing clarity and tranquility to the mind. It helps us to manage stress more effectively and bring focus to the body's natural ability to heal.
The direct translation of Taiji is Supreme Ultimate. Taiji is an internal martial art that focuses of structure to create power, rather than brute muscle strength. Taiji is not well known for being a skill of combat since it has such health promoting effects.

The health benefits of taiji are very similar to that of Qi Gong; it enhances body awareness and ease of movement, it alleviates stress, and improves mental clarity.

Both Qi Gong and Taiji have shown to improve balance in those with Parkinson's according to medical research.
